Stargazing at Fort Hunter
A benefit of being a member of the Friends of Fort Hunter. Star gaze and learn about the night sky with a local astronomer and retired planetarium director, Dennis Phillippy, in the east lawn of Fort Hunter Park. Begin the evening with a short introduction to the April sky and continue with several outdoor viewing stations on the east grounds with volunteers from the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg. View Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Crescent Moon, Star Clusters, Double Stars and possibly a satellite. Bring binoculars or telescopes, a few binoculars will be available to borrow. Rain or shine, dress for the weather. An indoor program will be provided in the event of inclement or overcast weather. Members only. Click here to join. FREE to members.
