    Maple Sugar Festival

    Susquehanna Folk Music Jam Session

    SFMS Jams are enjoyable afternoons of homemade acoustic music. Everyone who loves making music or listening to it, regardless of age,  performers or non-performers, beginners to experts are welcome. Folk music is at its best when made by hand and shared among friends — so drag that ukulele out of the closet and join in!  Bring instruments, ears, voices, and (if you wish) snacks to share. Copies of song words and/or guitar chords help others play and sing along.    Free

    A workshop about regional Native American Indians! Students in grades 2-6 and their parents love this hands-on workshop and the tour the Fort Hunter Mansion.   The visit, including time for a bag lunch, runs just under 4 hours.  In the 1 ½ hour workshop students will focus on how Indians obtained food, shelter, clothing and equipment, including exploring a wigwam, hands on activities and games. Program is also offered on Thursday, April 19. Pre-registration is required, call 717-599-5751.  Admission $5 students, $3 adults

    Needle Art Exhibit

    Fort Hunter Mansion

    View the handiwork of local needle artists exhibited in the rooms of Fort Hunter Mansion.  Participating guilds include Apple Needlepoint Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, Molly Pitcher Stitchers, Susquehanna, Nittany ValleyYork White Rose and Lancaster Red Rose chapters of the Embroiderers Guild of America.  The needle works will be on display from May 6 through June 17 and can be viewed on a tour of the Mansion, during museum hours, regular admission charged.  Demonstrators will be on hand on Saturdays May 12 – June 16 and during Garden Faire on May 6.  Groups discounts are available and can be arranged by calling 717-599-5751.
