    Festival of Trees

    Themed Christmas trees beautifully decorated with handmade ornaments and trimmed by local garden clubs are exhibited for viewing. Co-sponsored by the Harrisburg Area Garden Center, the trees are available for raffle.  A selection of handmade ornaments will be available for purchase.  Saturdays and Sundays only, November 25 through December 17.  Free

    Toy Train Exhibit

    For many years, children of all ages have delighted in seeing passenger trains, freight trains and scenes reminiscent of Pennsylvania attractions and countryside at this annual event. The Keystone Model Railroad Historical Society brings a magical wonderland of HO gauge trains on an 18X24 layout that may be viewed from all sides.  Check it out from every angle.  There is something for everyone as lights flash, burning buildings glow, sirens sound, cattle moo and Ferris wheels turn. Old and new trains will be displayed each week and for the annual visitor, exciting new additions are made each year. Thanks to the Friends of Fort Hunter for underwriting this popular attraction.  Saturdays and Sundays only, November 25 through December 23.  Free

    Christmas at Fort Hunter

    Decorated for Christmas, fresh greens and fruits, dried materials and fresh flowers provided by the Civic Committee of the Garden Club of Harrisburg decorate the Mansion in Victorian elegance. Open every day but Monday, December 1 through 23, guided tours highlight holiday trimmings and customs.  The Museum Shop is stocked with tasteful and unique Christmas ideas and is open during museum hours for timely holiday shopping.

    Craft Reunion

    One-of-a-kind creations of jewelry, metal sculpture, pottery, apparel, pewter and wooden utensils, stained glass and glass vessels, basketry, and hand-stitched journals are offered for sale by members of the former Third Street Pottery.  Rustic furniture, leather purses, and several new potters and jewelers join Craft Reunion for its ninth year.   This annual open house is eagerly anticipated by visitors who value the opportunity to meet the makers of the fine crafts on offer.  Buy Local from the best of central Pennsylvania’s artisans.  Friday – 12 – 9pm, Saturday – 10am – 7pm, Sunday – 11am – 4pm.  Admission is free.

    Greens Sale

    Featuring ornamental, handmade greens such as topiaries, boxwood trees, centerpieces, swags, plus magnolia and holly branches and more.  Arrangements made by Friends of Fort Hunter members are decorated with berries, dried flowers, etc. and created in wet oasis to be long-lasting.  These lovely arrangements are reasonably priced and if kept wet, will last through the holidays.  Friday 12 – 3pm,  Saturday 10am – 2pm and Sunday 11am until sold out.
