A Tea Party Express Bus Trip

9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Centennial Barn

All aboard the Tea Party Express! Join the Friends of Fort Hunter on a bus trip from Fort Hunter Park to beautiful and historic Ellicott City, Maryland.

We’ll depart the Centennial Barn parking lot at 9 am. Dr. Donald Koones will present an energetic talk celebrating a famous son of Pennsylvania, Andrew Wyeth.  This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Andrew Wyeth. His paintings done near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and on the coast of Maine have become legendary. This lecture will focus on the Wyeth Dynasty (N.C., Andrew, and Jamie) as well as Christina Olson, who inspired Andrew Wyeth’s “Christina’s World”.

When we arrive in Ellicott City, we will have Afternoon Tea at Tea on Tiber, a beautiful Victorian Tea Room. Founded in 1772, Old Ellicott City boasts the oldest standing B&O railroad station, the first Baltimore and Ohio Railroad terminus outside of Baltimore. Nestled in the Patapsco Valley, Ellicott City is a picturesque home to many historic sites, unique shops and distinctive dining.  From antiques to boutiques, after tea you are free to visit the local shops throughout town. A complete list of shops that are available are found at https://www.visithowardcounty.com/things-to-do/shopping/old-ellicott-city/.

Tea will include:
A pot of tea or a carafe of iced tea
Four Tea Sandwiches
