    Dauphin County Jazz and Wine Festival - Canceled

    Due to the pandemic the Jazz & Wine Fest has been canceled for 2020.

    Join Dauphin County Parks and Recreation at beautiful Fort Hunter Park as we welcome national, regional and local recording artists. The Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz will host Friday night’s entertainment! Browse among some of Central Pennsylvania’s top wineries and a fine gathering of wine, craft and food vendors. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Outside alcohol is not allowed.  Gate opens one hour prior to start time.

    $60 in advance, $75 at the door, tickets on sale after March 1.  Click here for entertainment line-up, participating wineries, information and tickets.

    Fort Hunter Day

    Fort Hunter Day ushers in fall with a free celebration of the old-time way of life. Sponsored by M&T Bank, visitors will find arts and crafts, children’s games and activities, historic demonstrations and exhibits, entertainment, a bake sale, festival food and more.

    View a butterfly habitat, visit with the PA Honey Queen, see old farm implements and hear a street organ played.  Learn about native foods – pawpaws, persimmons, hickory and shagbark hickory nuts and sassafras.

    Visit Heckton Church throughout the day to enjoy casual musical offerings, Saint Thomas Dulcimer Society 12 – 2p.m.. View antique tractors, a 1947 Mac fire engine and an antique hammermill from private collections.

    Archaeologists from the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission will be excavating in the side yard of the Mansion to find the 1750s Fort at Hunter’s Mill.

    Throughout the day enjoy musical entertainment on the corncrib stage in partnership with the Susquehanna Folk Music Society.

    St. Thomas Dulcimer Society in Concert

    Enjoy a collection of holiday and seasonal tunes played on mountain dulcimers,  Baritone dulcimers, a Bass dulcimer, banjammer (plays like a Dulcimer sounds like a banjo), harps, and hammer dulcimer.

    A holiday sing-along will conclude the concert and the Toy Train Exhibit will be open for a visit at the conclusion of the concert. Seating is limited.   FREE
