DESCRIPTION:Join us at our annual Maple Sugar Festival for a fun day filled with sweet treats! Families can taste a variety of maple syrups\, see how maple candies are made\, practice tapping trees\, make colorful crafts\, and much more. Admission to the festival is free. For about six weeks nature cooks up its own sweet delights within sugar maple trees as the sap begins to flow\, ready to be tapped for making sugar and syrup. The weather needs a combination of below-freezing temperatures at night and above-freezing temperatures during the day that causes the maple sap to flow. DESCRIPTION:New for Spring 2026\, we will offer half-day programming.\nEach of our homeschool days this spring will have a morning and afternoon session covering the same material\, so choose which time works best for your family’s schedule. Each session will run for approximately 90 minutes. \nFor our March 19th programming\, students will learn how historians use artifacts to uncover truths about the past\, then try living as the Victorians did by doing chores and playing games from the Victorian Era. \nFor more programming information\, please see “Uncovering History” and “Victorian Era Games and Chores” program descriptions on our Guided Field Trips page. \nOur Homeschool Days for Spring 2026 will be half-day programs. \nMorning sessions begin at 10am.
