Downton Abbey Tea
Be the first to view the last costume exhibit featuring Downton Abbey fashions. To celebrate the opening of the “Downton’s Last Stand: Fort Hunter High Fashions of the Downton Abbey Era”, the Friends of Fort Hunter host an afternoon tea, talk and preview exhibit tour.
Join Dr. Donald Koones for an energetic illustrated talk entitled “Hollywood’s Fashion Design Guru – Edith Head”. Learn about the queen of fashion design, earning eight Oscars for movies such as A Place in the Sun, All About Eve, Sabrina, Roman Holiday, and The Sting.
Following the talk, enjoy a High Tea consisting of tea sandwiches, homemade scones, clotted cream, jam, homemade cookies and unlimited tea as MaryAnn Guerrisi provides soothing tunes on the violin. Then walk to the Mansion to view the dresses that were worn by Helen Reily (last resident of Fort Hunter Mansion) in the years 1912 – 1920’s, the years of the six seasons of the television show.
The cost for members of the Friends of Fort Hunter is $25, non-members $30.
