“Hit the Road Educational Tours” Presidents Homes Bus Trip
Join the Friends of Fort Hunter’s “Hit the Road Educational Tours” for a two day bus trip of four president’s homes in the scenic countryside of Virginia. A highlight of the trip is the energetic narration throughout the trip provided by Dr. Donald Koones.Board the bus in the Centennial Barn parking lot on Friday, October 4 where Dr. Koones will inform and amuse with background historical information on the four featured presidents. Learn about and enjoy guided tours at the homes of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, James Madison’s Montpelier, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and James Monroe’s Highland. A tour and lunch at Michie Tavern and overnight lodging at the Best Western Inn and Restaurant in Culpeper complete the trip.
