Needle Art Tea

Needle Art Tea

1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Centennial Barn

Enjoy a tea, a talk and a tour.  Begin the afternoon  with a chat with Kathy Weigl, regional director of the Embroidery Guild of America,  as she moderates a “fashion show” of needlework techniques, using the pieces in the show as the examples of the world of needlework and the wide variety of beautiful art which can be created by needle and thread.

The program continues with an afternoon tea consisting of homemade scones, tea sandwiches (cucumber and ham salad), fresh fruit, fancy cake, blackberry parfaits and unending cups of tea.    The afternoon will conclude with a tour of the needle art exhibit in the Mansion.  Handiwork of local needle artists represent Apple Needlepoint Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, Molly Pitcher Stitchers, Susquehanna, Nittany Valley,  York White Rose and Lancaster Red Rose chapters of the Embroiderers Guild of America.

Also enjoy classic Rolls Royce automobiles on display on the driveway of the Mansion.  $30/ members $25   Click here for tickets.  Or tickets may be purchased in person at the Dauphin County Parks and Recreation offices at 100 Fort Hunter Road or by sending a check made payable to the Friends of Fort Hunter.  Join the Friends of Fort Hunter to receive the discounted price.
