Mrs. Reily’s Tea

Time:
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Location:
Fort Hunter Mansion & Park

Enjoy an afternoon dessert tea, an illustrated talk and a tour of Fort Hunter Mansion and the needle art exhibit.

Begin the afternoon with award winning journalist and author Diane McCormick as she takes us on a pub crawl of 12 Pennsylvania taverns with rebellious pasts, where the stakes were high and the rum was flowing. Meet the scalawags and insurrectionists of the American Revolution, Whiskey Rebellion, the boozy Fries Rebellion, the tumultuous Canal Era, the Underground Railroad, the Battle of Gettysburg (and the making of the movie!), the Molly Maguires, and Prohibition.

Then switch gears for the more refined art of Tea, featuring homemade fancy cupcakes, homemade scones, homemade chocolate mousse, fresh fruit, savories and unending cups of tea.

The afternoon will conclude with a walk through the Mansion and the Needle Arts Exhibit.  For more information, contact Julia Hair, jhair@dauphinc.org or 717-599-5188, ext. 2116.
