Fort Hunter Park contains two picnic pavilions, which are ideal for family picnics or barbecues with plenty of parking and public restrooms. They can be reserved or used on a first come, first served basis. One is located on the west side of Front Street, close to the Susquehanna River, the other is on the east side of Front Street, near the Centennial Barn.

The pavilions are rented only between 8 a.m. and dusk. Payment of fees constitutes application for reservation, phone reservations are not accepted. A mandatory security deposit of $50 must be paid to insure that pavilions are returned in good condition. Deposits will be returned as long as no damages are incurred to Park facilities. Pets, alcohol, and amplified music are not permitted in the Park. Cooking may only be done in the grills and fireplaces provided at the pavilion sites.
