Pavilion Rentals

Fort Hunter Park offers two beautiful picnic pavilions for visitors to enjoy. These pavilions are the perfect place for a family picnic or barbecue, with plenty of space and convenient amenities such as public restrooms and parking. The pavilions can be reserved in advance or used on a first-come, first-served basis.

One pavilion is located on the west side of Front Street, near the Susquehanna River, while the other is on the east side of Front Street, near the Centennial Barn.

In addition to the picnic pavilions, Fort Hunter Park also offers a variety of other amenities to make a visit even more enjoyable. The park has several trails that are perfect for walking or biking and is the northern connection to the Capital Area Greenbelt. There are also several playgrounds and sports fields for children and adults to enjoy. If you want to learn more about the park’s history, be sure to visit Fort Hunter Mansion on the grounds. Whether you are looking for outdoor recreation, a peaceful place to relax, or a chance to learn about the area’s past, Fort Hunter Park has something for everyone to enjoy.

The pavilions are rented only between 8:00 am and dusk. Payment of fees constitutes application for reservation, phone reservations are not accepted. A mandatory security deposit of $100 must be paid to insure that pavilions are returned in good condition. Deposits will be returned as long as no damages are incurred to Park facilities and Park policies and rules have been followed.

Alcohol, food trucks, amplified music, pop up tents, and bouncy houses are not permitted in the Park. Cooking may only be done in the grills and fireplaces provided at the pavilion sites.

Although the process of requesting/approval/management of facility use is now digital through Facilitron, Fort Hunter administrative staff makes final decisions on all facility use requests.

The only way to check a date or to request use of a facility is by creating a Facilitron account and submitting a request online. Please click HERE for an introduction to placing a request. Payment options include major credit cards, checks, ACH/eCheck, and Paypal. Cash payments are not accepted.
