In this virtual lecture we will learn about the many steps it takes to go from the idea for a museum display, through the research phase, and ending with the final product when it comes to the world of hair. Our speaker, Ashley Leitzel-Reichenbach, IATSE Hairstylist from NYC, has shared her talents in several exhibits at the Fort Hunter mansion. Her presentation will focus on historical styling techniques and how these can be achieved with modern day tools and products. Come along with us as we bring hairstyles of the past to life for visitors to enjoy today.
You can see Ashley’s work up close and in person in this year’s exhibit, “Life with the Reilys” as she has generously loaned her wigs and stylings to enhance the mannequins in the exhibit room for the second year in a row.
