Autumn festival featuring a craft show, children’s crafts and games, exhibits of 19th century life, farm animals, music demonstrations of old-time chores and crafts, food and surprises around every corner.
Enjoy musical offerings from musicians from the Susquehanna Folk Music Society, a salute to Bob Dylan’s 75th birthday by Hard Travelin’, Irish Blessing, Whiskey Sunday and locally renowned jazz artist Steve Rudolph Quintet.
View antique fire engines and fire equipment, taste locally hand-made cheeses, see apple butter made the old-fashioned way. At 3pm join park staff and local dignitaries to cut the ribbon on the newly expanded parking lot and river access. Children can participate in old-time games, chores and crafts. Visit the arts and craft show and the working archaeology excavation. Taste an apple, eat a pretzel from a stick, taste a bowl of soup or ice cream or many other fun festival food choices. See old time chores such as bee keeping, sheep shearing, woodworking, hair jewelry, quilting or spinning demonstrated. Tour the Mansion for $3 or view the handmade quilts of the African American Quilters of Harrisburg. All of this for Free!
